- Special Notice Notice of Intent to Sole Source PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY NOTICE THAT WILL BE PUBLISHED The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 16, intends to negotiate and award a sole-source, firm fixed price, non-personal services contract with: Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations 161 Cheshire Lane Ste 100, Plymouth, MN 55441 ueiSAM: MGFRRSLEREG9 This procurement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12 and 13 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 in accordance with (IAW) FAR Part 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a single source. The VA Medical Center (VAMC) located in Houston, TX has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, transportation, parts, test equipment, tools, and expertise necessary to maintain the Medtronic Cryo-Console Equipment System located at the Houston VA Medical Center. Based on market research and previous acquisition history, it has been determined that the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Medtronic, is the only source with the qualifications and capability to perform the required services due to the proprietary nature of the system. Medtronic provided a sole source letter stating only OEM is authorized to perform the requested services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, quotations, or expressions of interest. The government does not anticipate receiving responses to this notice. However, interested parties who disagree with this action may submit a letter of interest that demonstrates your firm s technical expertise, certifications, and authorization to compete for this acquisition to include a rationale for why you should be considered. The government reserves the right to vet/verify any documentation submitted with the OEM to certify its authenticity. Interested parties may identify their interest solely via email to Contract Specialist, Brian Hendren, brian.hendren@va.gov no later than 10:00AM August 15, 2022, 10AM Central Standard Time (CST). When responding to this announcement, respondents should reference include ""36C25622Q1379 Notice of Intent"" in the subject line. Late responses shall not be accepted. No telephone inquiries will be accepted nor will phone calls be returned. Only emailed responses will be considered. Information received will be utilized solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is at the sole discretion of the Government.
