- Description
- Questions: Q1: Can you please clarify the frequency of the ice and snow removal as quantities will vary depending on the weather? Answer: My understanding is that snow is to be removed when there is 1 inch accumulation or when it stops, whichever happens first and must be maintained as such. Some years this has been 3-4 times a winter and some years, it has been daily or multiple times a day. Safety is the biggest concern. Could a frail, elderly person in a wheelchair or using a walker/cane safely make it from the designated VA parking spots to inside the clinic? Q2: How should we determine the amount of sand and melt should be allotted for the barrels? Answer: Usually one kitchen sized trash can at each main entrance has been sufficient for the season. (The kind with attached lid works best). I only recall one year in the past 10 that required a refill. A smaller receptacle by the employee entrance would be ideal for reaching that sidewalk. Q3: Are there already perennials planted or will they need to be installed? Answer: There are perennials planted and if for any reason they need to be replaced due to damage or dying that would be done using a Government purchase card under a separate PO. Q4: Building access is provided or is a pass card issued Answer: We ve never had anyone have access to the building-they just make arrangements prior to spray/pest control. Q5: How often are you wanting the grounds policed for trash? Answer: At least once a week or if there s been a windstorm. We tend to accumulate trash from the neighbor s overfilled dumpster when the wind blows.
