- Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for production of the Transit Case Assembly (TCA), NSN: 5970-01-565-2062TM; P/N: 8151162-000. ITEM DESCRIPTION: The TCA is an item used on the RQ-4 Global Hawk Ground Segment. This aircraft is�part of an integrated Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) constellation�providing accurate, timely, decision-quality, and critical information to decision-makers, shooters, and other warfighters. The function of the TCA is for storing the Communication Data Link (CDL) equipment that goes on the roof of the Launch and Recovery Element (LRE), that's used for transmitting and receiving through CDL. CDL is a communications link that uses direct line of sight. IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION: The original equipment manufacturer for this item is L3 Technologies, Inc. (CAGE 06401), which maintains its configuration by part number and software version. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, L3 Technologies, Inc. is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the TCA performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST: The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to�L3 for the manufacture of the TCA in support of the RQ-4 Global Hawk program. Other�interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 15 August 2022 by emailing Kimberly Berdon (kimberly.berdon@us.af.mil)�and/or dla.dlr.proc@us.af.mil. The Government intends to procure these items using�Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
