Description
The Bronx, New York Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVA) is seeking annual service and preventative maintenance for the -80 C freezers and incubators used by investigators and staff of the National Center for the Medical Consequences of Spinal Cord Injury. These freezers are used to store research samples collected during multiple on-going research projects. The incubators devices are used in research to enable investigators to culture cells at precise temperatures and carbon dioxide levels. Objectives: The Veterans Affairs anticipate award of a 5-year service contract for Type-2 Full Service on freezers, and Type-1 Preventative Maintenance on incubators. Scope of Work/Tasks: Provide annual periodic maintenance/inspections; Provide repairs as needed to include doors, hinges, compressors, temperature sensors, temperature controllers, alarms, and any other repairs that might be needed; To provide a backup freezer within 24 hours in the event that a freezer is unable to maintain the set temperature. The first periodic maintenance visit will occur within one month of the start date of the contract. Service calls for repairs will be scheduled within 1 business day after the issue is identified. A backup freezer will be provided within 24 hours after determining that a freezer cannot be repaired in a timely manner. Travel: Service technicians are required to travel to equipment locations. This is a Sources Sought synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 541990. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Based on responses to this synopsis, the Government may issue this RFP. Potential contractors may submit a capability statement to the contracting office than no later than Friday, August 12th, 2022, 12:00 PM EST.
