Description
320th Special Tactics Squadron at Kadena AB, Japan will receive swift water training and garner internationally recognized Rescue 3 Certificates in New Zealand. The Internationally recognized Rescue 3 certificates receivable will be: Swift Water Basic, Swift Water Advanced, Flooded Urban Rescue, and Canyon Rescue. Specialized swift water equipment will be required to complete this training to include: Swift Water Ropes, throw bags, cams, tri-cams, nuts, quick draws, swift water harnesses, locking carabiners, water helmets, tie-ins, swift water protective flotation device (Type III), swift water related apparel, rescue capable water craft. Additionally, transport vehicle for personnel and equipment is required. A physical copy of a plan of instruction for all certifiable events is required. Swift water training �and an environment for flooded area vehicle extrication and small boat river rescue �is required. The objective of the training is to provide realistic technical rescue specialist training in the four certifiable Rescue 3 skill sets. The training, which incorporates academics and scenarios, shall be applicable to the current areas of operation and injury patterns as well as provide the ability to train to the specific skills of the Pararescueman and Combat Controller as a technical rescue specialist. Swift water training in cold water utilizing dry suits is required. A tour of the ""Bay of Plenty"" Emergency Management Office in Tauanga and its rescue helicopter is required. Instructors with Special Operations or Special Forces backgrounds are required in order to develop a tailored tactics, techniques, and procedures product which is the main priority for this training.�
