Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Illumina, Inc., 5200 Illumna Way, San Diego, CA� 92122-4616 because the �supplies being acquired (NovaSeq and MiSeq sequencing reagents/kits) are laboratory kits designed to allow for detection and genetic sequence determination of nucleic acid (including deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA) using highly-sensitive and robust laboratories methods. These particular kits are used to generate large amounts of high-throughput data using what is referred to as �short read� technology. Sources for procuring this type of supply include laboratory-based scientific companies capable of manufacturing quality-controlled and highly-precise scientific kits designed for next-generation sequencing (NGS) applications.��These kits are needed in order to amplify and determine the genetic sequence of common bacterial causes of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in CDC�s STD laboratory (SLRRB). This contract action is for a supplies which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)� and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The North American Industry Classification System code for this procurement is 325413- �In-Vito Diagnostic Substance manufacturing�. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.� A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any quotation/response must be emailed to contract specialist Alverta Lopez at qvb0@cdc.gov by 5:00PM, August 30, 2022.� The Contracting Specialist will not respond to verbal request. All requests must be in writing.�
