- Description
- The U.S. Department of Labor (Department) Employment and Training Administrations Office of Unemployment Insurance intends to host a Vendor Industry Day session(s) to enable the Department to continue its market research on viable solutions within the Unemployment Insurance (UI) community of interest. The Department would like to extend its appreciation to those vendors that previously participated in the Departments first ever Vendor Industry Day(s) with a focus on fraud prevention and detection solutions within the UI space. Those sessions truly validated your commitment to providing State Workforce Agencies (SWAs) with viable technology solutions and the Department is thankful for the collaboration. As such, the Department wants to better understand currently available industry solutions and consultation services with a focus on eliminating and mitigating UI equity impacts. We are interested in learning about solutions and services improving and optimizing business processes. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, SWAs experienced significant UI systems delays in service delivery because of challenges with adaptability to new federal programs/policies and, notably, the ability to surge system bandwidth with the influx of claimant activity. Furthermore, the Department is aware that increased process improvements within agencies do not always improve the claimant experience. The Department is responsible for the oversight of Federal-State UI and related income support programs and has a vested interest in hearing from vendors/consultants that provide solutions and/or services that will position a SWA to best meet the UI PERFORMS Core Measures (https://oui.doleta.gov/unemploy/pdf/Core_Measures.pdf). Finally, the Department is interested in learning how these processes improve equitable agency services, including actions taken to ensure that the services improve equitable access; actions taken to prevent an increase of erroneous denials; and the equity checks or measures taken in developing these solutions/services. The Department would like to hear from vendors that answer the foregoing questions in conjunction with their solutions/services including, but not limited to: Robotic Process Automation / Business Process Automation; Optical Character Recognition (OCR) / Intelligence Character Recognition (ICR); Chatbot; Dynamic Fact-Finding; Equity and Journey Mapping; Translation Services; Plain Language Communications; Business Intelligence/Data Mining/Analytical Reporting Tools; Improving Recipiency Rate for Individuals with Barriers to Access and Other Equitable Access Services. The Department will host its Vendor Industry Day on October 12, 2022; additional days will be scheduled as needed. As part of the Departments market research, we invite your organization to sign-up for one of the available timeslots to provide an overview of technology solutions and/or services that will position SWAs to optimize their service delivery efforts by registering. Send your registration to Wells.Tyrone@dol.gov NLT September 30, 2022. Should a timeslot not be available, please email Wells.Tyrone@dol.gov to request additional availability for presentations. Attendance at this event shall not be considered a commitment of any kind by the Government. The Government will not reimburse any cost to prepare for or participate in this Industry Day Event.
