- AMENDMENT TO ADD QUESTION AND ANSWER DOCUMENT AND PICTURES BRAND NAME: ""GML is requesting to purchase a Kohler brand emergency generator because it can be easily worked on by the only diesel generator mechanic on the remote island of American Samoa. He has maintained GML's current Kohler generator for over 10 years, is familiar with the system, and is able to get Kohler parts quickly, keeping backup power capabilities online. If NOAA were to purchase a different brand generator, there is no guarantee the mechanic would be able to keep it functioning at such a high level, or easily get replacement parts for it. GML would like to purchase a generator that will be a one-for-one replacement and be guaranteed to be serviced by an on-island mechanic."" This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized in FAR Part 13. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a total small business set-aside. The associated NAICS code is 335312. The small business size standard is 1,250 employees. This combined solicitation/synopsis is for purchase of the following commercial supplies: Kohler diesel generator Description of requirements is as follows: Generator Technical Specifications:� Kohler brand diesel generator, with controller module, that will power a 40kw system on 60 HZ, 120/240 volt Generator needs to have a skid mount with no base fuel tank Tier 3 EPA-Certified for Stationary Emergency Applications Single phase power 1 year manufacturer defect warranty by Kohler See attached full Combined Synopsis with all terms and conditions which all vendors must be in compliance with to be eligible for award. Vendors must provide their Will or Will Not and Does or Does Not Statement per FAR Provision 52.204-24 which goes with FAR Clause 52.204-25. At a minimum, all quotes should include contact information and CAGE Code.
