Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE TO: Atlantic Diving Supply, Inc. (ADS). (Unique Entity ID: GJMSFBCNMSK3) The 92d Contracting Squadron at Fairchild AFB, Washington intends to award a sole source purchase order to Atlantic Diving Supply, Inc. (ADS) as a result of them being the only vendor that distributes Skydio X2D 1.8ghz sUAS system in accordance with the salient characteristics. The Skydio X2D sUAS system is on the approved list FY20 Section 848 NDAA compliance and validated by AFSOC as cyber?secure and safe to fly. Skydio only sells the X2D version through its GSA reseller. Other versions provide similar capabilities, but the sole source is derived from AFSOC approval and duplication of costs in training. This acquisition will be solicited as a sole source to the small business, ADS. It is not in the government's best interest to pursue competition until market research shows other manufacturers/distributors can meet the requirement. At that time, the sole source environment will dissolve. This acquisition will be solicited from a sole source under the authority of FAR 8.405?6(a)(1)(i)(B)). Approval for sole source is in accordance with section 2304(f) of Title 10 U.S.C. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government. Vendors that believe they can provide the original equipment manufacturer products required are invited to submit substantiating documentation in writing to the identified point of contact. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the government to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the government.
