Description
SOFTWARE LICENSING OPPORTUNITY Data Acquisition and Processing System (INLDAS) This software provides the infrastructure to develop new sensors and processing techniques for industrial processes with a flexible and adaptive platform. Opportunity: Idaho National Laboratory (INL), managed and operated by Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC (BEA), is offering the opportunity to enter into a license and/or collaborative research agreement to commercialize the INLDAS software. This technology transfer opportunity is part of a dedicated effort to convert government-funded research into job opportunities, businesses and ultimately an improved way of life for the American people. Overview: Data acquisition (DAQ) systems are seeing increasing implementation with the growth of Industry 4.0, the technological advancements and flexibility of DAQ systems, and a growing emphasis on data monitoring. Industry currently relies on custom designed data acquisition systems that are dedicated to specific sensors or processes. This current state-of-the-art leads to high development time and costs. DAQ systems are widely used by sensor companies, processing equipment manufacturers, commercial product manufacturers, and others. This leads to a need for a flexible, configurable and cost-effective data acquisition system that will allow prototyping of sensors and real-time processing algorithms for process monitoring and controls. Description: The INLDAS data acquisition and processing system is designed for companies that develop sensors and measurement techniques to develop prototype measurements and real-time processing techniques. INLDAS has a number of unique features, including: Wake-up Timer Ability/flexibility to process acquired data and display in real time. Any processing algorithm can be incorporated only limited by processing speed. Real time processed output becomes a virtual output channel, and the data is stored in a file. Flexibility/configurability to activate/deactivate, display, name channels, engineering units Benefits: Provides a platform that is flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of industrial manufacturers needing to develop sensors and data processing techniques. Provides the flexibility to integrate new and updated sensors and processing algorithms in an active manufacturing line without custom programing. Significantly reduces new sensor and data processing development time. Applications: Companies that develop sensors and measurement techniques for process monitoring, including, but not limited to: Sensor companies Processing equipment manufacturers Commercial product manufacturers IP Status: Copyright in software entitled Idaho National Laboratory Data Acquisition and Processing System, BEA Docket No. CW-22-04. INL is seeking to license the above intellectual property to a company with a demonstrated ability to bring such inventions to the market. Exclusive rights in defined fields of use may be available. Added value is placed on relationships with small businesses, start-up companies, and general entrepreneurship opportunities. Please visit Technology Deployments website at https://inl.gov/inl-initiatives/technology-deployment for more information on working with INL and the industrial partnering and technology transfer process. Companies interested in learning more about this licensing opportunity should contact Andrew Rankin at td@inl.gov.
