Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Life Technolgies Corporation for the : KingFisher� Flex Purification System with 96 Deep-well �and can only be purchased through the brand-name company. Life Technologies Corporation is the only company that provides : KingFisher� Flex Purification System with 96 Deep-well, Thermo Scientific KingFisher Flex that is compatible with the equipment used by the Bacterial Diseases Branch (CDC/DVBD/BDB) for several years for improving their DNA sequencing workflow. The KingFisher Flex is a multipurpose instrument that can efficiently isolate and/or purify nucleic acids in just a couple of hours, using magnetic particle separation technology. Its acquisition at RZB will improve the collaboration RZB-BDB and will significantly improve DVBD strength and representation on tick surveillance programs nationwide. Lastly, it is a stand-alone instrument, saving benchtop space if compared to other comparable instruments. �The North American Industry Classification System code for this procurement is 423490 �Other Professional Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers�. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.� A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at qna6@cdc.gov by COB 22 August, 2022.
