- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Thermo Electron North American LLC Inc for Raman Microscope from ThermoFisher. Instrument from other companies are not compatible with the BCAbox software, that will be required to run collaborative experiments. Other sites will use BCAbox software, that will be critical for data analysis. Only this particular Raman microscope is compatible with the proprietary software which will be used for our experiments. In addition, this companys microscope has the features that are required for our needs. Due to the following reasons, the DXD3 instrument is the instrument that is required for meeting the research objectives of the laboratory: The instrument software is fully compatible and easily integrated (plug-and-play) with Advanced Cytometry Instrumentation Systems, LLC (ACIS) BCAbox Micro-Raman Software that is being used by our collaborators. The instrument features a 70mW 633 nm laser with precision cooling and current control via USB interface. A wavelength stability of 0.015nm/C with noise <0.3% that is essential for the work to be done. Laser must have an RMS Beam Size of 0.6 x 0.9 mm. Linewidth (MHz) of ?? 150 and an operating voltage of 3.3 VDC. This system must have automatic x-axis calibration, ensuring resistance to environmental-induced drift and elimination of manual calibration. Multiple excitation lasers must be supported at wavelengths of 455 nm, 532 nm, 633 nm, 785 nm. The spectrograph shall not contain a grating drive and be capable of obtaining a full spectrum measurement covering the range of at least 50-3300 cm-1I5. Instrument must feature fine laser power control power and reported at samples in 0.1 mW increments. Including laser-to-laser and system-to-system reproducibility. System alignment must be automatically optimized upon laser exchange. System must include a video camera and an integrated trinocular viewer supporting simultaneous binocular viewing and collection of video camera images. The laser must be completely blocked from viewing optics to guarantee laser safety. Spectrograph must be mounted such that it is set apart from significant heat sources in the instrument. Spectrographs mounted on top of the illuminator are not acceptable This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1).. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at Qrz9@cdc.gov by COB 19 August, 2022.
