Description
Questions and Answers for RFQ# 36C24822Q1384 According to the SOW, 6-core fiber cable is 62.5/125um (OM1) is required. But according to the standards (TIA & ISO-11801) and industry guidelines (OM1 & OM2) cables have been discounted/outdated and are not recommended for new installations. Do you still want to consider OM1 fiber cable for this project? If yes, what make and model of 6-core fiber cable is 62.5/125um (OM1) is required? ANSWER: OM1 is what the original fiber was. We were looking to install one for one on the fiber. However, if there is a better fiber optic cable on the market that wouldn t result in excessive spending over the contract we would be open to those recommendations. Do we need to consider RJ45 cat 6 Surge Protection Devices for your outdoor IP cameras? If yes, then what make and model of RJ45 cat 6 Surge Protection Devices is required? ANSWER: Don t worry about anything with the cameras. That is a separate issue. This project is only to restore the fiber. Do we need to consider media converter at the camera ends? If yes, what is the make and model of the media converter? ANSWER: Each camera currently has a comnet 10/100 media converter it communicates with a GE Security Optical Ethernet Transceiver in the metal boxes in Freedom lot. These will need to be replaced on an as needed basis. Copper patch cords to be included in the estimate. If yes, what make and model of copper patch cord is required?  ANSWER: Don t include these in the estimate. Do you require an IP67-rated enclosure at each camera end to protect the fiber cable and media converter? If yes, what make and model of IP67 rate is preferred?   5. b If media converter is required, then power to the camera s also to be considered in the estimate?   ANSWER: No, each camera already has an enclosure. Each camera already has a local power source. Is the fiber cable required to be installed aerial or underground?   ANSWER: The fiber will be required for underground and inside existing conduit or boxes. Do we need to include the ST type rack mounted LIU in the estimate? If yes, then what is the make and model of ST type rack mounted LIU? ANSWER: LIU is already present and can be reutilized. Do we need to include any POE or active network equipment in the estimate? If yes, then what is the preferred make and model of the POE or active network equipment?  ANSWER: No POE is needed. Do we need to include the rack and its accessories in the estimate? If yes, what are the preferred make and model of the rack and its accessories?  ANSWER: No new rack is needed. MDF/IDF location is not marked in the plan. Please clarify the exact location.  ANSWER: The fiber originates in the two metal boxes in the freedom parking lot. It goes from there to the guard shack in liberty and to the camera locations. The signal is then broadcast back to the hospital via the microwave receiver in the freedom parking lot. 18 camera locations are not marked in the plan. Please clarify the locations.  ANSWER: I have attached a map that shows the camera locations. Do we need to include horizontal cable managers in the estimate?  ANSWER: No. Do we need to include copper or fiber patch cords in the estimate? If yes, please let us know the make, model, length & quantity preferred.  ANSWER: No. UNICAM Corning make ST Type connectors have been mentioned in SOW. As these are the field terminable connectors, do you still require LIU and pigtails to be spliced at the equipment end?  ANSWER: No there are fiber converters at the camera. The fiber will need to be terminated to plug into those converters. Do you require surge protection devices for the cameras at the equipment end? If yes, then please let us know the make and model of surge protection preferred/required.  ANSWER: Surge protectors are needed. We don t have a preferred/required make or model. Will the reuse of existing fiber enclosures, ST MM adapter panels, ST/ST MM fiber patch cables, media converters and copper patch cables be acceptable in the Liberty guard shack, Freedom head end cabinets and camera locations? ANSWER: Yes. Will all 6-strand be terminated at both ends? Currently there are only 2-strands per camera terminated at both ends. ANSWER: No, the strand will stay as is, as we only need a receive and a transmit (2 strand). Will Davis Bacon Wages apply? ANSWER: The Davis Bacon only applies to Construction Contracts. This procurement is considered a Service Contract, as no remodeling/redesigning is being done. Therefore, the Davis Bacon Wages DOES NOT apply. *** This is a courtesy reminder that ALL verified/certified SDVOSB s must complete/sign/submit the Limitation of Subcontracting (LoS) Certification Form (Attachment 2) along with your quote and New Vendor Form (Attachment 3).
