- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed priced purchase order on a sole source basis to One Lambda Inc, West Hills, CA 91304-3200 to procure the LABScan 3Dinstrument, an advanced multiplex analyzer. This instrument will be used by the NIH, Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) Lab to produce low resolution HLA typing results for the numerous transplant protocols supported by the laboratory. It will replace one of the current LABScan 3D instruments in the lab that was purchased in 2014. One Lambda, a Part of Thermo Fisher Scientific is an authorized distributor of this instrument, which is manufactured by Luminex Corp. All trademarks are the property of Thermo Fisher Scientific and its subsidiaries. The HLA lab currently uses One Lambda reagents for antigen and antibody testing so it is recommended that the instrument be purchased through One Lambda so they can make the necessary adjustments to the data collection software prior to shipping. The HLA Lab requires this specific instrument because it currently has two existing LABScan 3D instruments in the lab and a compatible instrument is needed to integrate with the existing procedures and quality control assessments made for this instrument. This acquisition is being conducted under the authority of the FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.
