- Sources Sought For C-130 Nose Radome (Request for Interested Manufacturers) SPRWA1-22-R-RADOME FROM:� Catherine Revell/GUMBB TO:� �� DLA Aviation Procurement Operations at Warner Robins (SPRWA1) LOCATION:� Robins AFB, GA 31098-1813 FBO Post Title:� Request for Interested Manufacturers for C-130 Nose Radome NSN: 1560-01-417-5455LG NSN�1560-01-417-5455LG P/N�3333921-1 Noun�C-130 Nose Radome SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the C-130 Nose Radome, Part Number (P/N) 3333921-1, NSN 1560-01-417-5455LG. ITEM DESCRIPTION Market Research is being performed to search for approved sources to manufacture C-130 nose radome assemblies for both the C-130H and C-130J model aircraft. The radome is a composite aero shell that requires specialized tooling to produce. This radome assembly encloses the radar, glideslope and microwave landing system and is a critical part in the radar�s transmission efficiency and degradation requirements for the enclosed systems. The C-130 radome is military unique and not commercial. Any C-130 radome vendor(s) found would have to build radome�s to the military unique specifications and requirements of part number 3333921-1, NSN 1560-01-417-5455LG and meet critical performance requirements to include the requirement of specialized tooling to allow the part to match the complex contours necessary of the nose radome. Impediment to Competition: The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Lockheed Martin (CAGE 563J1) who contracted out manufacturing to General Dynamics. �General Dynamics (CAGE 04DG4) owns special tooling that was designed specifically for the Nose Radome that supports C-130�s mission and operational requirements. The Government does not own the full technical data package in support of this requirement. As a result, General Dynamics is the only known source with adequate knowledge of meeting the Nose Radome�s performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment.� INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to General Dynamics CAGE 04DG4 for the manufacture of the Nose Radome in support of the C-130 sustainment effort.� Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 06 September 2022 to Catherine Revell (Catherine.Revell@us.af.mil) and Jimmy Hicks (Jimmy.Hicks@us.af.mil) via email.� The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
