- Description
- The NIEHS Clinical Research Branch, RTP, NC is in need of nanopore sequencing services using three methods. The lab needs to sequence a long (>100k) repetitive region (4q35 locus) utilizing newly developed technology; Nanopore Sequencing. Since there are several methodologies for this sequencing, we will sequence 2 patients samples, each with 2 replicates, using 3 different methods: CRISPR, Adaptive Sampling, and Region Specific Extraction (RSE). The best performing method will then be used to sequence and compare approximately 20 arhinia (craniofacial malformation) and 20 FSHD2 (muscle weakness) patients' DNA samples. There is no established protocol for sequencing 4q35 locus yet, therefore the lab will need to optimize the protocol first. Eremid Research Services is the only place which can try these three different types of methods (CRISPR, Adaptive Sampling, and Region Specific Extraction (RSE)) to determine which method is best for the 4q35 locus and optimize it to make it work. 1. Targeted Sequencing using Oxford Nanopore Technology: 67 samples - Sample QC and library preparation - Sequencing using minON flow cell R9.4.1 The applicable North American industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541990 All Other professional, Scientific, and Technical Services. Its associated Business Size Standard is 17.0M. NIEHS will solicit and negotiate directly with Eremid Research Services, and no solicitation will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. Offerors must have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM.GOV) www.sam.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties must express their interest and must be submitted in writing via email to Valarie K. Sims at sims3@niehs.nih.gov and are due by 10:00 AM, August 31, 2022. No faxed documents will be accepted. If no responsive statements are received by the due date, an award will be made to Eremid Research Services.
