The projects are located throughout Puerto Rico. This is not a solicitation for proposals and no contract shall be awarded from this notice. LOCATION:� Hybrid (In-Person and Virtual) In-Person (Please arrive by 08:30 am, EDT for Registration/Sign-In to the morning session and by 1:45 pm, EDT for Registration/Sign-In to the afternoon session. Antolin N�n Mart�nez San Juan, Puerto Rico 00918 Virtual Webex (see access information below) DATE: 17 August 2022 from 9:00 am � 5:00 pm, EDT INSTRUCTIONS TO PARTICIPANTS:�In order to prepare a list of attendees of individuals participating in this Industry Day, it is requested that an e-mail be sent to Anelis I. Nazario Castillo at Anelis.I.Nazario-Castillo@usace.army.mil not later than (NLT) August 12, 2022 at 5:00 pm, EDT. In your email, please include the following information: firm�s name, name and title of those individuals participating, contact number and e-mail address, and method of attendance (virtual or in-person). Please be advised in-person attendance from a single company is limited to two (2) persons (see details below). Please, also indicate which session you would like to participate in (see information below). An educational presentation is scheduled for 17 August 2022 from 9:00 am � 5:00 pm, EDT at the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico. There will be two sessions of presentations. The first session (9:00 am � 12:30 pm EDT) will discuss the general requirements of the projects and inspection/validation of construction materials laboratories with contractors and sub-contractors. The second session (2:00 pm � 5:00 pm EDT) will focus on specific requirements to be considered by material suppliers/vendors, and heavy equipment dealers. In person attendees,�please arrive by 08:30 am, EDT for Registration/Sign-In to the morning session and by 1:45 pm, EDT for Registration/Sign-In to the afternoon session.� Attendees can choose to attend in person or virtually through the Webex platform. For in-person attendees, the maximum number of participants that will be allowed to attend from a single company will be limited to two (2) persons. PROJECTS TO BE DISCUSSED ARE: Rio Puerto Nuevo The authorized project will provide protection to 7,000 residential structures, 800 commercial and public structures, 1.5 square miles of major port facilities, recreation facilities, government offices, a major electrical power plant, and several wastewater/water treatment facilities in the metro area of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The proposed improvements will consist of 1.7 miles of earth lined channels, 9.5 (5.9 miles without deferred Contract 8) miles of concrete lined channels, 2 stilling basins, 23 new, replaced, or modified bridges including replacement of 19 bridges, an upland dredge disposal area, sewer line modifications and replacements, recreational features, and mitigation for the loss of environmental habitats. Rio de La Plata The authorized project will provide protection to the towns of Dorado and Toa Baja, including the communities of Levittown, Mameyal, Ingenio, and Campanilla. The plan of improvement includes construction of 5 miles of channel improvements, 6 miles of levees, scour protection of 3 bridges, recreation facilities and mitigation for the loss of environmental habitats. Rio Grande de Arecibo The authorized project provides flood risk reduction for a 100-year flood event for the municipality of Arecibo and Los Ca�os area due to overflows from Rio Grande de Arecibo, Rio Tanama, and Rio Santiago. The proposed project design includes a combination of two floodwalls and approximately 1.7 miles of levees along the Arecibo River; approximately 1.5 miles of channel improvements, three bridge replacements along the Santiago River, and an estimated 7.2 acres of mangrove habitat for environmental mitigation.
