Description
Presolicitation Notice GAOA Sierra Ancha Headquarters Water System Replacement Sierra Ancha Experimental Forest DESCRIPTION OF WORK This project is for the contractor-supplied and installed water distribution system and repair of the water treatment system for the headquarters site of the Sierra Ancha Experimental Forest. The Sierra Ancha Experimental Forest Headquarters is located along AZ-288, approximately 20 miles north of its junction with AZ-188, between the towns of Globe and Young. The contractor is responsible to provide all labor, equipment, supplies, and materials for the supply and installation of the water treatment equipment, treatment building, and distribution pipes, valves, and fittings. The scope of work consists of the construction of the water treatment and distribution systems, including the following: Enclosed shed/pumphouse building, to be placed or constructed on the existing 9�-6� x 14�-6� concrete slab, to house proposed treatment equipment and contact time tank. Treatment building may be stick-built, as detailed in attached drawings and Specification 06 10 50 � Miscellaneous Carpentry & Utility Building Construction. Alternate structures, such as prefabricated or precast buildings, may be submitted for approval. Building must have sufficient insulation and heating for system to operate year-round. 500-gal contact time tank with adjustable floats and demolition of existing tank Booster pump set to maintain a minimum water pressure of 40 psi. Includes solar power array and battery bank sufficient to maintain pump operation year-round One yard hydrant with curb stop valve and demolition of existing hydrant Install sediment traps on supply lines upstream and downstream from existing 30,000-gal water storage tank Optional work items include: Diagnosis and repair of existing SunSpring SS36 solar-powered filtration and chlorination system. Includes relocation of existing solar array to the exterior of the proposed treatment building. If repair of existing equipment is infeasible, replace with equipment of equivalent function, in accordance with contract specification 33 21 20 � Water Treatment System. Includes solar power array and battery bank sufficient to ensure uninterrupted water treatment year-round Approximately 1,420 LF of 4� distribution piping and demolition of existing pipe as necessary, including isolation valves at every tee, wye, or branch of the distribution system Approximately 270 LF of 1� water service pipe and demolition of existing pipe as necessary Daylight drains at the bottom of each distribution branch to allow winterization of lines by gravity Contract Time: The work anticipated under any contract resulting from this solicitation estimated start date August 1, 2022 and be completed within 30 calendar days from issuances of Notice to Proceed. Site Visit September 29, 2022 at 1300 Mountain Time, meet at the project location. The magnitude of proposed project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Project drawings will be provided as attachments to the Request for Proposal (RFP).
