Description
STATEMENT OF NEED FUJIFILM SonoSite PX Point of Care Ultrasound Visualization Tools (4) GENERAL: The Interventional (IR) Section of the Radiology Service at James A Haley VAMC (JAHVA) located at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612 has a requirement for four (4) ultrasound imaging tools to aid in visualization of patient anatomy/pathology during interventional procedures. BACKGROUND: JAHVA IR Service provides image guided interventional services/procedures for both inpatients and outpatients. Clear visualization of structures is imperative to guide the radiologist for successful completion of interventional procedures. The requested equipment provides a significant improvement in the visualization of structures for patients with a large body habitus. PURPOSE: These self-contained, small footprint, mobile ultrasound devices will be utilized by the Radiologists and the Radiologist's Assistant (RA) to visualize structures, tumors etc. for percutaneous biopsy. The use of Ultrasound technology for guidance during IR procedures can significantly reduce patient exposure to x radiation during their lifetime. Use of ultrasound technology in IR will result in improved patient outcomes and satisfaction with biopsy processes that can be traumatizing to some patients. Having four Sonosite PX machines available will allow for maximum scheduling capacity i.e. patient access will be expanded, reducing wait times and the need to refer patients into the community for care. SCOPE: JAHVA IR Section requires the contractor to provide an ultrasound imaging solution capable of operating in B Mode, M-Mode, Color Doppler, Color Power Doppler (CDP), Pulsed Wave and Continuous Wave modes. It must support transducers with linear, phased array and curved array formats. Further it must include a full array of measurement and calculation packages that meets or exceeds the specific need/salient characteristics listed below. The features/functions listed are essential to meet the needs of the government. The solution shall meet or exceed all applicable standards of The Joint Commission, VHA directives, local policy and any other pertinent, regulatory bodies. The contractor shall make available access to product specific education, to include but not be limited to, courses, video, webinars etc. accessible via desktop, tablet or phone.
