- Veterans Health Affairs, Network Contracting Office 5, is issuing this Notice of Intent to Sole Source in order to identify any potential sources that have the resources and capabilities to provide upgrades/updates to the Rauland Responder Nurse Call system. This requirement is defined primary by existing hardware already in use at the Huntington VA Medical Center. BACKGROUND Our mission critical Rauland Responder Nurse Call system is running on obsolete hardware and will cease to function without an upgrade to the latest Responder 5 hardware. SCOPE PS-1) Remove all the Rauland Responder 4 hardware and replace with Responder 5 devices. These devices shall be integrated into the existing Rauland Responder Infrastructure. PS-2) Upgrade the Rauland Responder (Code Blue) system including software and any outdated, non-complaint, or questionable hardware items, ensuring the system is up to date with current industry standards. PS-3) The Responder 5 and Vocera system must have working communication and interoperability. The contractor shall verify this has been established and is responsible for providing the necessary materials and labor to correct any issues. PS-4) The contractor shall evaluate the Nurse Call system as a whole and repair/replace any items that are outdated, non-compliant, or questionable. If additional components, currently not present in the existing system are required, the contractor shall provide the necessary materials and labor required to make the system compliant with current industry standards. Work included but is not necessarily limited to general construction activities for replacement work including architectural finishes and miscellaneous other items as detailed on the plans and indicated in the specifications.
