This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualifications of Small Businesses firms relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 332992. The Department of Veteran�s Affairs is seeking all small business manufacturer or distributors of small business manufacturers, of the following brand name or equal requirement. Objective: The VA New York Harbor Healthcare System requires firearm ammunitions for its VA Police to maintain qualification standards. Per VA Handbook 0720/1, Veterans Affairs Police Officers must train with their issued firearm and long-range rifle on a semi-annual and annual basis for qualifications. Each officer is required to fire 800 rounds on the Handgun and 200 rounds on the long-range rifle annually. A minimum of 1000 rounds per Police Service member is required annually. Police service also conducts remedial training which requires the use of training ammo and duty ammo. It is also required for newly hired Police Service members to complete a minimum of 200 rounds of pre-Basic firearm training prior to attending the VA Law Enforcement Training Center.
