The presentation racks and trolleys will be used to clean and transport all the rodent and rabbit caging that house the animals used by multiple investigators in Research Service. 1.2 Scope of Work Multiple investigators at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VAMC use rodents for their research models and currently one investigator has two protocols utilizing rabbits for a research model. The facility currently uses the Tecniplast SealSafe Plus individually ventilated caging for all rodents and has ordered Tecniplast rabbit caging. The facility currently uses a Tecniplast Atlantis EZ cage washer for all cage/accessory sanitation. The presentation racks are specifically designed to efficiently stack the rodent caging lids or the rodent bodies and rabbit cage pans to provide proper angles for appropriate sanitation in the cage washer. These transport trolleys are specifically designed to efficiently stack the Tecniplast cages and lids for safe transport from the clean cage room to the animal room during cage changes. We currently utilize 2 Tecniplast presentation racks and require additional racks due to an increase in census. We are currently using standard transport cards for caging which does not provide the efficient structure of the Tecniplast transport trolleys which will improve caretaker efficiency.
