- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, Research Service intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Inscopix, Inc. for the nVue Imaging System, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Investigators at the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC are conducting research on traumatic brain injury and require a replacement for the existing Inscopix miniscope system on site that is now obsolete and no longer supported. Inscopix is the manufacturer of the nVue System, and the nVue System is a technological upgrade to the current Inscopix miniscope system. The nVue System is needed to maintain data integrity in ongoing research studies for both consistency and compatibility, and to integrate with the existing Inscopix neural recording systems on site. Furthermore, the nVue system is the only known imaging system to image two distinct neuronal populations simultaneously with single cell resolution at two wavelengths (471 and 575 nm); record two brain signals longitudinally over months; and explore the intricacies of how two populations of neurons interact during free behavior. This is a notice of intent and is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any responsible source who can provide an equivalent product with the features described above, and who is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller of all the items listed above, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Thursday, September 15, 2022, 3:00 PM EDT. Interest/capability statements which specifically detail how your product meets the requirement may be sent to Shannon Hukriede at shannon.hukriede@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
