- Description
- Solicitation 36C24E22Q0197 Questions and answers Can one company submit two quotes for different products? Are we talking about 2 different cryogen-free 9.4T PET/MRI system? Will you require a reference list of existing fully functioning sites using the vendors solutions for 9.4 PET/MR? We definitely would like to see a reference list of installed (or being installed) cryogen-free 9.4T MRI with PET capabilities. Which application areas will require simultaneous PET/MR? Metabolic/molecular/structural imaging applications. What application requires that traumatic brain studies on mice and rats accommodate animals up to 2.5kg for MRI-only applications? To accommodate larger animal models such as rabbits. Are there whole body rat applications or is the rat research related primarily to brain research? There are rat brain research as well as whole body research including cardiovascular and abdominal imaging research. What animal models do you wish to image? Mice, rats, rabbit. Does you research require dedicated and optimized PET/MR Brain coils for rat and mice that have highest SNR in the brain, minimized attenuation effects for PET and allows for the measurement of the MR based attenuation map in a single bed position? Yes Does the 600 mT/m gradient need to be available for use in simultaneous PET/MR with no exchange of the main system gradient? Yes. Since we do not believe that a 120mm ID RF coil can accommodate a 2.5kg. animal should the system requirement include a 140mm ID RF coil? Venders can provide options that meet or exceed the stated system specifications. Would much higher slew rates of up to 4200 mT/m/s in combination with short ramp times of 150us and strong gradient strength up to 900 mT/m of a mouse & rat brain PET/MR scanner beneficial to achieve better high quality PET/MR imaging results at high fields? Yes, higher performance main gradient systems should be beneficial for better imaging outcome which would have to be demonstrated during acceptance testing. Would stronger second order shims of up to 3750 Hz/cm2 in combination with 240 Hz/cm3 Z3 shims of a mouse & rat brain PET/MR scanner be an improvement for high quality high-field fMRI and spectroscopy PET/MR? Stronger second order shims could improve the quality of fMRI and spectroscopy again this would need verification demonstrated during acceptance testing. Can you please be more precise and clear in the required electronic channel configuration and define more specifically what linear or low noise means? The system must be equipped with two (2) RF transmit channels and eight (8) receive channels. Linearity and noise amplitude will be a function of vendor provided components. The combination of all system components meeting specifications will determine the final system chosen. Regarding Low noise narrowband preamplifier please specify how many and which band. We are seeking a system with a minimum of 8 preamplifiers providing operational capabilities at narrowband for 1H and also at broadband frequencies for multi-nuclei. Regarding the minimum of 2 Linear Pre-amplifiers please clarify why 2 when there are 4 receive channels There are a total of 8 receive channels and 8 pre-amplifiers required. Minimum of 2 preamplifiers specifically optimized for MRI spectroscopy applications for any of the following nuclei: 31P, 22Na, 13C, 19F, 3He, 17O or 129Xe please clarify why 2 broadband preamplifiers when only 1 X-nuclei is detected We are requesting the system include a minimum of 2 broadband pre-amplifiers for current applications. 16. Do you require a single nucleus X-transmit only coil, or rather a 1H/X coil with active detuning for the X nuclei to allow the use of X-nuclei receive-only coils? We recommend the vendor provide both options with VA choosing optimal configuration.
