Description

Questions from Vendors pertaining to Fiber Optic Installation: Does the contractors on site need to have a PIV Badge? No. Does the government need patch cords? Yes, (8) 3-meter LC to LC SM Fiber Patch Cords. Can the government confirm that the termination at both ends will be LC. Yes, both ends terminated with LC. Does the government have a preference of the type of termination? Hot melt, quick cam, splice on connectors. Splice on connectors for small-strand count / Large-strand count pre- made pigtail with fusion splice Government request 4 home runs to building 24-27. Where is the home location from? Building 28, 78 or between 24-27. A 48 Strand (24MM/24SM) Cable between building 28 and 78. From building 78, a 6 Strand SM cable to each building 24 -27. Is the 6 strand SM Fiber Cable required to be green as well? No. Does the government have a preference in size of the wall mount enclosures? 12ru, 24ru or 36ru. Yes: For building 28: 2RU Rack Mount LIU with OS2 24 fiber bulkheads and OM4 24 fiber bulkheads. For building 78: 1RU Rack Mount LIU with 12 fiber bulkheads. For Quarters 24 � 27: Any wall mount 6 Strand LC fiber bulkhead mounted on a 24� X 36� X �� fire rated backboard. What color is required for the patch cords. Teal/Blue recommended�� --CANNOT USE ORANGE COLOR Is there a specific brand of fiber cable and equipment required for this installation? �Buy American � any of the following: Corning, Hitachi or Superior Essex or Belden, General Cable What lengths are the fibers for all the runs to include fiber connectors, type of fiber MM or SM? Approximately 300 feet of the 24MM/24SM from Building 28 to Building 78. Approximately 1000 feet Total of the 6 Strand SM from Building 78 to each of the buildings, 24 � 27. How many strands per fiber run? From Building 28 to 78: 24 Strands MM and 24 Strands SM. From Building 78 to each of the buildings, 24-27: 6 Strands SM to each. Will LC Connectors be utilized? Yes.
