- THIS NOTICE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, REQUEST FOR QUOTE, OR AN INVITATION FOR BID. NO ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS OR DRAWINGS ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. NO CONTRACT OR PURCHASE ORDER WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. THIS MARKET RESEARCH IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF INTEREST, CAPABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS OF INTERESTED VENDORS AND WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO SHAPE THE ACQUISITION STRATEGY IN DEVELOPING A COMPETITIVE REQUIREMENT.�� The United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Special Projects Operations Center � Southwest Region intends to issue a solicitation for two (2) contracts for Road Repairs as a result of the Scenic Byway Creek Fire. Services will need to be provided in the Sierra National Forest. Phase 1 will cover approximately five (5) miles of Minarets Road; and Phase 2 will cover approximately 42.35 miles of Minarets Road in Madera County, California. The Forest Service cannot provide personnel nor equipment to complete the requirements; therefore, the awarded contractor(s) must provide all management, supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, incidentals, inspection, quality control, and supplies necessary to complete the road repair work. The contractor(s) personnel must have necessary expertise, qualifications, and experience to assure performance of the work in accordance with sound, safe, and efficient management practices. Sources are being sought for entities with a North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 237310 � Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction, with a Small Business Size Standard of $39.5M. We are requesting information on business sizes and categories listed in #2 below. Responses are requested with the following information: Vendor�s name, address, UEI, points of contact with telephone number(s) and e-mail address(es); Business size/classification to include any and all business types and sizes; and Description of capability to perform any or all of the following services: Applying crack seal and double chip seal to road surface. Installing asphalt dike type F, concrete curb stops, and pavement markings. Patching sections of road, import and placed in compacted layers Caltrans class II base rock. Installing a pavement geotextile and placing a compacted layer of Hot Mix Asphalt PG 64-16. Cleaning and reconditioning of the culverts and all other drainage structures along the road; including placing approximately 15 tons per mile of base rock to improve the surface and drainage, and approximately 20 tons per mile of HMA to repair potholes per specifications.� Interested vendors should email their capabilities to Kelly Ollivant at Kelly.ollivant@usda.gov.
