- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, intends to issue a sole source contract for the procurement of Support Equipment acquisition from Davis Aircraft Products Co., Inc., (CAGE: 98313) 1150 Walnut Ave Bohemia, NY 11716 (Tel: (631) 563-1500) of two (2) Blade Clamp Assembly, Lifting Clamp CH-53K (Part Number: FDC8252-15). The Blade Clamp Assembly, Lifting Clamp allows the maintainer the ability to take the blade off the aircraft transitioning it into a vertical position in order to put the blade into the slots of the Main Rotor Blade Rack Assembly. The anticipated award will be made to Davis Aircraft Products Co., Inc. which is the sole manufacturer of the above Support Equipment. Furthermore, these pieces of Support Equipment are only used on the CH-53K series of helicopters, no other aircraft int he U.S. inventory utilizes these times. The Government does not have data or drawing rights to permit full and open competition. Davis Aircraft Products Co. does not have any authorized manufacturers of the above Support Equipment. As such, Davis Aircraft Products Co. is the only source for the above Support Equipment.. NAVAIR intends to procure under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all responses received within fifteem days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
