Description
Solicitation Amendment 36C24422Q1204 0003 The purpose of this solicitation amendment is to answer vendor questions submitted in response to solicitation 36C24422Q1204. Contractors submitted twelve (12) questions prior to the expiration of the question response time of 4:30PM EST, September 20, 2022. Question 1. Would the VA consider an uninterrupted 5-year agreement? This is a large investment for the chosen company, of which the pricing will be amortized over the 5-year term. The agreement will have an out clause for service deficiencies. Answer: No, our service contract must include a base year and option years. Question 2. If the VA will not commit to a 5 -year term, would a product buy-out be considered if the term falls short of the 5- year period? Answer: No, our service contract must include a base year and option years. Question 3. Would the VA consider using scrubs without the direct embroidered logo for each top? A buy-out of the product will be required if embroidery is required on each top and jacket. Answer: Embroidery is not required but the VA logo must be on the clothing. Iron-on is acceptable. Question 4. Since the program is requiring an all -inclusive pricing program that would allow for no extra charges for lost or ruined scrubs, why would an RFID chip be necessary? Answer: If inventory control can be maintained without it, the RFID is not required. Question 5. Approximately how many employees will use scrubs daily? Answer: 105 on day shift and 60 on off shifts. Question 6. How many ORs are in the VA of Wilmington? Answer: 4 Question 7. The equipment described holds 128 sets or 256 pieces, will that acceptable? Answer: Yes Question 8. Will the individual and personalized scrubs only be used for SPS/ Logistics Department? Answer: Yes Question 9. Is the VA aware that individualized scrubs cannot be part of the scrub automation system? Answer: Yes Question 10. The system described does not use plastic bags, is that acceptable? Answer: Yes Question 11. We need to know which departments are currently wearing hospital issued/laundered scrubs, # of employees working in each of those departments each day, scrub color(s)?  We can cut cost down by using one dispenser instead of two or more.  Answer: Description Dept Prod. Answer: From the SOW: Contractor shall have the ability to perform a sizing event to determine the correct sizing needs of the OR staff. Each automated scrub machine is to stock complete sizes of scrub sets, i.e., extra small, small, medium, large, extra-large, 2 extra-large, 3 extra-large, 4 extra-large etc. Request for more or less of certain sizes due to employee needs, and or new sizes of scrubs, due to change of employees, will be communicated on a written request thru the COR. Contractor must offer ""Petite"" Sizes Contractor must offer tall sizes up to 2.5 inches longer From our sewing machine operator who handles the scrubs now: From memory because she does not have a master listing: 2XS to 4X in women s XS to 3x in men s The government has answered all timely vendor questions, and the question period has closed.
