- Description
- NASA/Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) has a requirement for the overhaul of four (4) Hamilton Standard 24PF Propellers.� NASA/Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) intends to issue a sole source contract to acquire the services from Western Propeller. Western Propeller supplied the aircraft to the US Army and is the recommended supplier. Based on the sources sought and the results of the market research conducted by the Acquisitions Specialist and the knowledge of the requester it is determined that Western Propeller is the only vendor that can meet this requirement. The sources sought was posted on August 30, 2022, with a response date of September 6, 2022, no responses received. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements (10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1)). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort electronically via email to Jenny Staggs jenny.y.staggs@nasa.gov and Karla Garcia karla.i.garcia@nasa.gov not later than Friday October 4th, 2022 by 2:00 PM PDT. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this acquisition on a competitive basis. �A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
