- The purpose of this contract is to provide research and development support to the Government that is designed to: 1) enable and produce the information necessary to determine the feasibility of using aqueous ionic amines (AIAs) as a replacement for aqueous monoethanolamine (MEA) in submersibles, 2) determine the relative toxicity of inhaled aerosols verses MEA vapor; and 3) perform a preliminary study to understand the potential for a hybrid membrane/AIA system for CO2 capture in submersibles.
