- Description
- Argonne is exploring the breadth and depth of capabilities of a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) registration and site access credentialing system. The Argonne Enterprise Registration System (AERS) and Site Access Credentialing System will be a comprehensive, centralized system(s) that will collect and process data for multiple non-employee types as well as print credentials to be issued for onsite access for employees and non-employees. The system(s) will be able to fully integrate with Argonnes current applications both commercial and custom products (identity management system, people management system (Workday), access management systems, training systems, proposal systems, safety systems, foreign national access authorization system, etc.) and external applications e.g., Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID), Research Organization Registry unique ID (ROR), etc. and will result in the consolidation of multiple systems, thereby reducing technical debt. It is estimated that the AERS will integrate with numerous internal and external applications. The Argonne Enterprise Registration System & Site Access Credentialing System will ensure governance, safety, and security of people management as well as identity management for non-employees associated with the Laboratory. In addition, implementation of a new centralized registration & site access credentialing business system will improve the experience of all Argonne employees and non-employees by providing improvements with numerous features and services that streamline the registration process. It will decrease time and effort to complete registrations (digital and on-site) and request and print on-site credentials, eliminate redundant data entry, facilitate reporting, and provide simplicity and transparency for employees and non-employees. While it is desirable to have one system that can meet both the registration and site access requirements listed below, we are accepting responses from vendors that may only be able to meet one or the other. We would still like to hear from you. If you are open to collaborating with one or more additional vendors to provide us with an adequate solution, please let us know. If you have particular collaborators in mind, please identify them for us and indicate their role in this effort.
