- SOURCES SOUGHT STATEMENT OF WORK BACKGROUND: The Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service, Acoma-Canoncito-Laguna Indian Health Center, Department Patient Services � Medical Imaging requires the services of a Medical Ultrasound Technologist/Radiologist specializing in Cardiac Ultrasonography to provide ultrasound services in a competent and professional manner to support the mission.� The Contractor will furnish all management supervision, labor, transportation, equipment supplies, quality controls and incidentals in accordance with the performance work statement as follows: ������� 1.����� Will operate the following equipment: �Siemens Sequoia ultrasound in real time, Doppler, color Doppler as well as spectral Doppler to produce and record cross-sectional anatomy to include all normal and pathological process. ������� 2.����� Determines the procedure to be used in performing the exams based on an explanation of symptoms from the radiology requisition order. ������� 3.����� Receives patients and explains method of exam. ������� 4.����� Have good communication skills. ������� 5.����� Provide a qualified ultrasound technologist/radiologist to interpret the study images. ������� 6.����� Will consult with referring provider and/or lead radiologist when more information is required. ������� 7.����� Independently, performs a variety of quality diagnostic scans of primary care, outpatients and urgent care patients. Assess the patient's condition and adjusts the equipment to vary techniques to accommodate the critically ill, immobile and physically handicapped patients. ������� 8.����� Identifies diagnostic scans and interprets ultrasound exams with lead radiologist comment/notes, but does not give official readings. Also, notifies the provider and/or radiologist of scans requiring immediate attention of visualization while patient is undergoing exam. ������� 9.����� Responsible for proper maintenance and performance of all equipment at all times.� Makes minor adjustments on equipment and differentiates artifacts from the normal pathological process and recognizes electronic equipment limitations.� When diagnostic quality is degraded, recommends necessary repairs.� Will maintain a neat and clean, orderly ultrasound exam room. ������� 10.��� Performs all clerical aspects required after performing each ultrasound exam.� Prepares and presents completed exams to the lead radiologist and/or provider. ������� 11.��� Performs in a timely manner, all real-time, Doppler, color and color Doppler spectrum procedures that are complex and intricate as the patient permits. ������� 12.��� The Contractor provides direct patient care services under the terms of this contract, delivering appropriate and timely imaging services in accordance with the Standards of Care established by recognized diagnostic imaging department and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the ACL Indian Health Center Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations. PURPOSE: Currently the Indian Health Service, Albuquerque Area does procure services and supplies from Small Business Indian Firms pursuant to the Buy Indian Act 100% of the time. STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES: ������� 1.��� Locate eligible and qualified Small Business Indian Firms to support IHS procurement needs under NAICS code: Q522 � Medical - Radiology / 621512 � Diagnostic Imaging Centers. ������� 2.��� Utilize the information received with future acquisition planning efforts and potential Buy Indian set aside.� ������� 3.��� Possibly create one Firm-Fixed Price Contract amongst eligible and qualified Small Business Indian Firms. HOW TO RESPOND: This is a sources sought notice under the authority of the Buy Indian Act. �The Indian Health Service (IHS) is attempting to locate qualified and eligible Small Business Indian Firms, �Native American Indian Owned and Operated businesses,� that can provide services/supplies to the Indian Health Service.� This is a request for information only.� Responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.� Any information submitted by respondents to this notice is strictly voluntary with no obligation or incurred cost by the government. ������� Provide With Response: ������� 1.��� E-mail response.� Shall be in a printer friendly format, Word or PDF, 8x11 page size, 5-page limit. ������� 2.��� Certification as a Small Business Indian Firms. The government is ONLY interested in Small Business Indian Firms.
