- NASA/Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) is hereby soliciting information from potential sources for the complete removal, conversion, overhaul, reinstallation, and normal performance verification of multiple Rolls Royce MK511-8 aircraft engines within the specified period of performance. A total of 6 engines will be removed and reinstalled in NASA AFRC aircraft. Of the 6�engines, 4 will be converted for different electrical power compatibility, and 2 will be overhauled. The engines will then be used for continued flight operation of Gulfstream III aircraft at NASA AFRC. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) AFRC is seeking capability statements from all interested parties,� including all socioeconomic categories of Small Businesses and Historically Black Colleges and Universities�(HBCU)/Minority Institutions (MI), and members of the underserved communities as defined by Executive Order 13985, Advancing Racial Equity And Support For Underserved Communities Through The Federal Government, for the purposes of�determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small business�subcontracting goals for the Rolls Royce MK511-8 Engine Extraction,�Conversion, Overhaul, Storage, & Return to Service. Given the general scope of�work stated in this sources sought, for Large Businesses, please submit suggested percentages of the work that could be subcontracted to each of the following types of businesses: Small Business Concerns; SDB Concerns; WOSB Concerns; HUBZone Small Business Concerns; HBCU includes other MI; Veteran-Owned Business Concerns; and SDVOSB Concerns. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. The Government will use this information in determining its small business set-aside decision. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on SAM.gov. Interested firms are responsible for monitoring this website for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate� documentation, literature,�brochures, and references. All responses shall be submitted electronically via email to Lauren Bechel, Acquisition Specialist, lauren.bechel@nasa.gov and Roxana Romero, Contracting Officer, roxana.l.romero@nasa.gov no later than Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 4:00 PM PST.
