See attached. PAUL FILHIOL Contracting Officer CONTINUATION PAGE Q&A for Pharmaceutical Waste Gulf Coast Q1. The non reg waste weight is regulated medical waste or non haz pharma waste please? A1. Non haz pharma waste. Q2. Document 36C25623Q0047+0001_1 Section 3 on page 7 of 17 states Containers will be approximately 3 gallons in size or 7 gallons in size then later refers to a supply level of 10 each 3 gallon containers and 6 each 12 gallon containers . Section 8 on page 10 of 17 refers again to containers 7 gallons in size . Attachment 2 page 17 of 17 then refers to 0009 Disposal 12 gallon container of Non-Regulated Pharmaceuticals . Can you please clarify whether the containers must be specifically 7 or 12 gallons, or whether this is an approximation? A2. The sizes were based on established practices in our facilities. Of course different suppliers will vary size and shape somewhat, but the containers must meet the needs of the customers. Our clinical workplaces primarily use 3 gallon containers for pharmaceutical waste. Some areas generating higher levels of medical waste use alternative 7 gallon containers. Inpatient pharmacy/ outpatient pharmacy/and Pensacola pharmacy utilize 12 gallon containers. Due to space considerations on the clinics, the size may vary by a gallon either way, but should me maintained as close as possible. Q3. Document 36C25623Q0047+0001_1 Section 4 page 8 of 17 describes a pickup frequency for the 400 Veteran s Avenue Biloxi, MS location as Every 2 months at priority pickup locations. (55 -65 days between pickups.) Once per quarter at all other pickup locations at Biloxi facility (85 95 days between pickups.) . All remaining locations listed in this section describe a pickup frequency of Once per quarter. (85 95 days between pickups.) . Attachment 2 Contract Annual Usage Estimates page 16 of 17 estimates an annual frequency of 8 pickups at the Biloxi location and 4 pickups at the remaining locations. If the service is to be every two months, that would indicate 6 pickups per year. Can you please clarify that discrepancy? A3. The pharmacies and a central accumulation area used when clinic containers fill between service dates are to be serviced every two months during the contract (6 pickups per year). The clinics and smaller locations are to be serviced quarterly (4 pickups per year) These requirements overlap on two dates. Therefore that will leave six other dates for service for a total of 8 visits to Biloxi and Pensacola facilities The other facilities all have small accumulation areas to be picked up quarterly. Q4. Document 36C25623Q0047+0001_1 Section 3 page 7 of 17 refers to initial accumulation points at all VA facilities at Biloxi, Mobile, Pensacola, Eglin AFB, Panama City (2 facilities) . Section 3 also refers to a central accumulation area . It further states a supply level of 10 each 3 gallon containers and 6 each 12 gallon containers at the central accumulation area. . In Attachment 1 pages 13 and 14 of 17, only the Biloxi campus lists a central collection shed . Is this the only central accumulation area or do the additional locations also have central accumulation areas that will also require a supply level of containers as described above? A4. Only Biloxi has a central accumulation area at this time. Pharmaceutical production has been lower at the other facilities (with the exeption of the Pensacola pharmacy) and has not required a central location.
