Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) intends to issue a Request for Quotation for supply of Yellow Corn Masa Flour to be used in support of the agency's Mexican Fruit Fly Rearing Facility located in Edinburg, Texas. USDA, APHIS, �Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) program intends to award a 5 Year fixed-price, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for approximately 200 bags of (50 pounds each) Food Grade Taco Shell 6 Yellow and/or Chip Delight 6 yellow masa flour, fine ground with additives used for human consumption delivered to Edinburg Texas every month, or as Mexican Fruit Fly production needs indicates. There may be changes in demand of the product as the Mexican Fruit Fly production changes. Several deliveries may be ordered at one time, in that case, specified successive delivery dates will be provided. Mexican Fruit Fly (Anastrepha ludens) pupae are reared from the egg to the adult stage in the rearing facility. This product is one of many commodities used to produce Mexican Fruit Fly larval diet that provides the nutrients required for larval development. The pupae are marked, exposed to radiation to render the fly sterile, and reared to the adult stage and aerially released over commercial citrus groves in Cameron, Hidalgo, Willacy counties in Texas as well as over northern Mexico. The contractor shall identify the product to be supplied under this contract as well as provide a sample for testing at the time of quoting. If awarded, the contractor shall only supply that same identified and tested product during the life of the contract and shall make no substitutions. The product supplied shall be fresh and shall be delivered within� 6 months of milling date. Product will be used within 3 months of delivery. Quantities in the schedule are estimates only and are not guaranteed. The minimum guarantee under this contract is 50 bags. Pricing includes all costs necessary to supply and deliver the product FOB destination to the Edinburg, TX, delivery location. This�solicitation will be�issued as a total small business set-aside. The Government anticipates awarding a fixed-price IDIQ type contract. The appropriate NAICS code for this procurement is 311211 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. All responsible small business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. �
