- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS, THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY This Sources Sought is for the purpose of identifying firms that can meet the following United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Requirements. The SEA research center has a requirement for genome sequencing services under NAICS 541380, Testing Laboratories and Services. The objective is to construct high quality genome sequences and bioinformatics for high quality genome assembly. The requirement includes six peanut parental lines genomes to be sequenced in high quality to identify several mutated genes controlling disease resistance, seed quality, and built MAGIC pan-genome with eight parental lines. For research purposes, the data analysis must be completed with specific/unique genomic bioinformatics software similar to or with the Khufu platform for allotetraploid (4X) genome analysis. Specific tasks and deliverables may include: (1) extract six high quality genomic DNA; (2) construct six PacBio CCSExpress Libraries; (3) for each line generate 200-280 Gb of raw data and 16-22 Gb of processed CCS data; (4) conduct bioinformatics analysis and assembly for each line. This Sources Sought is not to be considered as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of the contractor submission to this Sources Sought or the Government's use of such information. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any contractor's input resulting from this RFI. No contract will be awarded as a result of this announcement. Data submitted in response to this RFI will not be returned.
