- This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE ACTION and is not a request for quotes. The Department of Veterans Affairs on behalf of Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) sole source action for the procurement of BD Alaris System Equipment. This action is accordance with FAR 13.106-1 (b) Soliciting Competition and in compliance with FAR 13.501(a) Special documentation requirements. Name of Contractor: CareFusion Street Address: 3750 Torrey View CT City, State, Zip: San Diego, California 92130-2622 The objective of this action is to procure the following items: DESCRIPTION QTY UNIT 8015 BD - BD Alaris PC Unit, Model 8015 (v9.33) 20 EA 8100 BD - BD Alaris Pump Module, Model 8100 (v9.33) 30 EA Guardrails® Point-of-Care Software for Alaris® PC units 20 EA Guardrails® Point-of-Care Software for Pump modules 30 EA This notice of intent to sole source with justification for brand name only satisfies the public posting requirements of FAR 13.501. This notice is not a request for quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the Government. All capability statements must be received by no later than 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on December 14, 2022. Responses to be submitted to Lindsay Goldsmith, Contracting Officer at lindsay.goldsmith@va.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Veterans Health Administration prohibits the use of gray market items in their Medical Centers. Gray market items are considered to be items outside of the original equipment manufacturer s intended distribution channels. This notice of intent to sole source with justification for brand name only satisfies the public posting requirements of FAR 13.501.
