Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) owns/operates Lockheed Martin WP-3D Orion aircraft. These aircraft perform numerous scientific missions such as hurricane research, hurricane reconnaissance, air quality research, and climate research. These operations are conducted throughout the continental United States as well as Alaska and foreign countries. During hurricane season, NOAA often forward deploys WP-3D assets to locations favorable for chasing the storms. These locations are all in hot and humid climates that invariably places a greater strain on the air cycle cooling systems which provide cool, conditioned air to the aircraft cabin and flight stations. The air conditioning is essential for cooling all of the equipment and instrumentation on board the aircraft that generates heat from its electrical components. During the high rate of use of the air conditioning system, these aircraft often sustain malfunctions within the air conditioning system. Historical data of problems with the air cycle cooling systems requiring maintenance action reveals an occurrence rate of about once per month. This trend is predicted to get worse as the aircraft and its systems age. The air condition system is complex and involves many components, including three temperature regulating butterfly valves. The only way to troubleshoot the system and determine the source of the problem with the air conditioning system is by using a BR61-101 test set (as set forth in the aircraft maintenance manuals). We are seeking vendors who can supply the system, and provide pricing for Product Details|TEMPERATURE TEST SET 4920-01-113-4380 Part Alternates:BR61101, BR61-101, 4920-01-113-4380, 01-113-4380, 4920011134380, 011134380 Part Number Cage Code Manufacturer BR61-101 9889 LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATION DBA LOCKHEED MARTIN AERONAUTICS
