Description

The United States Agency for International Development in Ghana (USAID/Ghana) intends to modify Tetra Tech ARD Contract #72064121C00001 for the purpose of increasing the Total Estimated Cost (TEC) by up to $6,000,000.00 from the current TEC of $17,881,665.36 to $23,881,665.36 without extending the period of performance. The statutory authority permitting this contract modification without providing full and open competition is AIDAR 706.302-70(b)(5), based on the authority provided by 40 U.S.C. 113(e)(2)), provides an exception to full and open competition when it would impair or otherwise have an adverse effect on programs conducted for the purposes of foreign aid, relief, and rehabilitation. The prime contractor, Tetra Tech, will continue to mitigate the near-collapse of Ghana�s small pelagic fisheries-sardines, mackerel, and anchovies�and establish a foundation for their ecological recovery. In particular, this cost extension will intensify and expand key interventions which will allow USAID to continue strengthening the marine fisheries sector and improving food security as contemplated under the activity.
