Description
The Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Basin, (LCB), Yuma Area Office (YAO), intends to negotiate and award a contract on a non-competitive basis, to Phoenix Pumps Inc. 5100 S. 36th Street Phoenix, AZ 85040. YAO has a requirement for 17-4 Floway Stainless Steel Pump Shafts to Support the 242 Wellfield upgrade of 400 Horsepower (HP) motors. This is a Notice of Intent only and not a request for competitive quotes or an announcement of a solicitation. The proposed action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authorities of FAR 13.501 and FAR 6.302-1(c). Phoenix Pumps Inc. is the 100% exclusive distributor of Floway pumps, motors and shafts for the 242 Wellfield. Phoenix Pumps and Systems are used throughout the Lower Colorado Basin and have been the single brand of vertical mixed flow designs located and installed throughout the Department of Interior. The Floway shafts are required for the pumps provided by Phoenix Pumps Inc. as they are the only shafts compatible with the existing systems used to produce ground water for the 242 Wellfield. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 333914, Measuring, Dispensing, and other Pumping Equipment Manufacturing with a corresponding small business size standard of 750 employees. The anticipated award date is February 6, 2023. Inquiries will only be accepted in writing via email to Kathleen Berry at kberry@usbr.gov. Inquiries must clearly state the solicitation number and subject. Inquiries must be received no later than January 5, 2023. The contract award information will be posted on SAM.gov, Contract Opportunities website at SAM.gov. The Justification and Approval for using noncompetitive procedures will be posted after an award is made. This announcement constitutes the only synopsis for this requirement; and is issued for notification purposes only.
