REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) DISCLAIMER: This is an RFI to ascertain whether a commercial item exists that provides the capabilities described herein. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Neither unsolicited proposals nor any other kind of offers will be considered in response to this RFI. Responses to this notice are not offers and will not be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. In keeping with the standards of FAR Part 10, the Government may request additional information from responders. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI or any follow-up information request. All information received in response to this RFI or any follow-up information request that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. At this time, questions concerning the composition and requirements for a future request for proposal will not be entertained. NOTE: At this time no solicitation exists. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED.� It is the responsibility of any potential Offeror to monitor this site for the release of any solicitation. �RFI TITLE: Contractor support services for contractor-conducted research for any and all pharmaceutical treatments for sensorineural hearing loss. �AGENCY: Defense Health Agency (DHA) �OFFICE: U.S. Army Medical Material Development Activity (USAMMDA) �LOCATION: 1430 Veterans Drive, Fort Detrick, MD 21702 5.0 SUBJECT: Request for information (RFI) for contractor to conduct market research for pharmaceuticals that treat sensorineural hearing loss. 6.0 BACKGROUND: The Pharmaceutical Interventions for Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (PINIHL), at the US Army Medical Materiel Development Activity (USAMMDA) Warfighter Expeditionary Medicine and Treatment Project Management Office (WEMT PMO) goal is to ultimately provide a capability for Warfighters with a treatment for hearing loss administered within 72 hours of acoustic trauma injury by developing an FDA-approved drug with an indication to treat sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). Therefore, we are conducting our own market research to see what, if any, contractor support services are available and capable of canvasing/researching the market place to see what possible pharmaceuticals treatments are currently available that will treat sensorineural hearing loss and that can be administered acutely after acoustic trauma. 7.0 DESCRIPTION: See Statement of Objectives (SOO). RFI SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: Responses from all capable and qualified sources. SMALL BUSINESS are encouraged to respond to this request.� Responses to this RFI shall adhere to the following formatting and outline instructions: 1.
