Description
The Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory, is in need of purchasing a stereolithography (SLA) workflow solution for the additive manufacturing of large parts and complex shapes in support of USACE, the Army, and DODs missions. The ERDCs requirement for additive manufacturing of 3D parts stems from its needs to create large, highly specialized parts with complex features, both optically clear for fluid flow analysis in large hydraulics structures/devices as well as opaque for long-term, outside applications. The ERDC CHL is seeking quotes for a high speed, high volume large-format 3D print stereolithography workflow solution. The minimum specifications are listed below. Equipment shall be new or in unused condition. Used or refurbished equipment will not be considered. The following salient characteristics must be met at a minimum: SLA 3D printer compatible with optically clear and opaque stereolithography resins Removable vat and in-vat auto material mixing Minimum build size capacity (xyz): 750 x 750 x 550 mm Accuracy requirement: not to exceed 0.002 inch per inch of part dimension Software to prepare, optimize, and print native CAD data included Compatible post-processing UV cure oven included Build unload trolley/cart included Two compatible resin vats and required accessories included Initial vat fill of optically clear stereolithography and environmentally stable opaque resins that meets the following: Evaluation of optically clear printed part per ASTM D1003-13 standard to meet the following optical properties at a minimum: Haze 4.3% Luminous transmittance 87.2% Diffuse transmittance 3.8% Demonstration of opaque printed part to maintain an ultimate tensile strength and tensile modulus of at least 50 MPa over an 8-year aging time for indoor and outdoor weather exposure per ASTM G154 standard and biocompatible capable per ISO 10993-5. Installation, calibration, and training for 4 people
