- INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract using design-bid-build selection procedures to Expand and Renovate Space for New MRI Construction Project at the Providence VA Medical Center (VAMC), Providence, RI. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures/equipment, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for Expand and Renovate Space for New MRI Construction Project at the Providence Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Providence, Rhode Island as required by drawings and specifications and per the description herein. This project shall include, but not be limited to general construction, alterations, civil site work, finishes, HVAC, electrical work, plumbing, fire alarm and suppression, security, and other items as contained within the construction documents. Refer to contract documents (drawings and specifications) for complete details of project work. As VAMC Providence is a 24/7 medical facility the contractor will be required to perform some work outside of VAMC Providence s normal working hours. VAMC Providence s normal working hours are 7:00am EST to 5:00pm EST. Refer to Specifications for limitations and requirements on work scheduling and off hours work. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 14, 19, and 36 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Proposals received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $39.5 Million. The solicitation will be issued in FY 2023 The period of performance is approximately 600 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000.00. This notice is not a request for competitive offers.
