Description
NASAs Technology Transfer Program solicits inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture and market the following technology. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. THE TECHNOLOGY: Countless industries depend on chemical sensors for fast and accurate detection of carbon dioxide (CO2) to protect their workers and those who rely on their products or services. Consequently, there is a strong push to continuously improve upon these chemical sensors. NASA's Glenn Research Center has developed a state-of-the-art, solid electrolyte-based microsensor for measuring concentrations of CO2 from 0.5 to 4%. Whereas its predecessors typically operated only at high temperatures (600C), this microsensor operates at temperatures as low as 375C decreasing the power consumption needed to measure CO2. This is accomplished through a simple modification to a preexisting NASA Glenn technology in which a coating of nanocrystalline tin oxide (SnO2) is added on top of the sensor. It is low on power consumption, fast, easy to batch fabricate, easy to use, and therefore well-suited for use in a multitude of applications. To express interest in this opportunity, please submit a license application through NASAs Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) by visiting https://technology.nasa.gov/patent/LEW-TOPS-112 If you have any questions, please e-mail NASAs Technology Transfer Program at Agency-Patent-Licensing@mail.nasa.gov with the title of this Technology Transfer Opportunity as listed in this SAM.gov notice and your preferred contact information. For more information about licensing other NASA-developed technologies, please visit the NASA Technology Transfer Portal at https://technology.nasa.gov/ These responses are provided to members of NASAs Technology Transfer Program for the purpose of promoting public awareness of NASA-developed technology products and conducting preliminary market research to determine public interest in and potential for future licensing opportunities. No follow-on procurement is expected to result from responses to this Notice.
