Sources Sought / Request for Information -- This market survey is for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATIN FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. The purpose of this announcement is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of all firms interested in participating in the competition to compete and perform a firm-fixed price construction contract. The Government will not pay for any information provided as a result of this market survey. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District (MVM) is conducting research to determine the capabilities of potential contractors to support a project requirement. The primary purpose of this project is to remove an existing stoplog closure structure and replace that levee opening with earth embankment.� The project will also raise approximately 0.5 mile of levee to authorized grade, by approximately 2�.� The borrow site is approximately 4.5 miles north of the project site.� Additionally, the project will remove four (4) corrugated metal pipe culverts (12�-15�) protruding through the levee, remove existing outlets structures and curb inlets, and build a new reinforced concrete drainage pipe system (15�-24�) with connections to existing curb inlets, three (3) new manholes, one (1) pipe through the levee, and one (1) cast-in-place outlet structure with flap gate.� The project is directly adjacent to a busy stretch of state highway with large truck traffic, which will limit workspace, and will require careful traffic control and adherence to Illinois DOT specifications and details for pavement and curb.� Phased sheet pile driving will be required along highway excavation and at the outlet structure.� Emergency flood protection planning will be required.� Clearing, erosion control, and wooden structure demolition will be necessary.�The estimated value of the work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.� All responses will be reviewed for preliminary planning purposes in determining future acquisition strategy. Provide no more than five (5) references, of the most recent and relevant contracts, performed within the last ten (10) years of work same/ similar in nature of which three (3) of these five (5) must involve miscellaneous repairs.� Include name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address of references.� Also provide a brief description of the work performed, contract number, total contract value, and period of performance.�� Submission of information should be limited to not more than five (5) pages. Acquisition Strategy: �U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District (MVM), bas been tasked to solicit for and award a project utilizing. Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, NAICS 237990, Firm-Fixed Price contract. The Small Business Size Standard for this requirement is $39.5 million. Under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines, the prime contractor must have the capability to perform at least 15% of the contract with his/her own employees. Offerors must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM), including the NAICS code they are bidding under, in order to receive a Government contract award.
