Description
This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health/Clinical Center/Office of Purchasing and Contracts intends to award a firm fixed price contract to Synthes DEPUY SYNTHES SALES INC, Raynham, Massachusetts 02767-5199 for medical screws and plates. DEPUY SYNTHES SALES INC. is the only vendor/manufacturer that can provide the Screws and plates specifically designed to be used on patients who undergo Craniotomy surgery where their skull has been opened to operate on their brain. To put the skull back together, screws and plates are needed. Approval of the purchase of the Depuy Synthes low profile screws and plates will ensure the Fixation Set that carries these items is complete, and the surgeon will have the items they need at the time of surgery. The self-drilling, self-retaining screws with modified cruciform recess facilitate the rapid replacement of bone flap. The proposed vendor, Synthes, is the vendor of choice that provides the best product. The staff is fully trained on proper cleaning and sterilizing the instruments and implants in the set. The surgeon is familiar with the product and knows how to utilize it properly. The items being requested get put inside of an instrument set and sterilized. They are considered Implants. Implants are items left in the patient during surgery. We currently have three sets with all items needed that work in conjunction with each other. By purchasing these items from another company, there will not be compatible. We would then have to buy all items that go with that company set. The Department of Peri-Operative Medicine will telephone or e-mail request for required supplies on a needed basis. Period of Performance shall be for a base year of twelve (12) months from date of award. The estimated product list is attached to this notice and titled Attachment 1 List of Supplies 23-004103. The government reserves the right to increase quantities pursuant to FAR 52.217-6. This acquisition is being conducted under the authority of the FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) allowing the Contracting Officer (CO) to solicit from one source. Interested concerns capable of providing the same or similar products or services as described in this notice may submit a capability statement outlining their capabilities. Capability Statements must be received within the time set forth in this synopsis to be considered by the Government. A determination to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Each response should include the following Business Information: a. DUNS. b. Company Name, address, POC, Phone and Email address c. Current GSA Schedules or NAICS codes appropriate to this Award. d.
