- Description
- This is a solicitation for non-commercial services (construction) in accordance with the FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District has a need for the construction of a 60-foot bored well with steel casing and buried slab at Libby Dam in Libby, Montana. The government will provide and power an on/off control switch located inside the Critical Spares Building. The contractor will trench and run power from the well to the switch. The discharge piping of the well will have a lockable well cap for security. There is no requirement for a pressure tank or pressure switch. All work will be in accordance with the specifications, and drawings, and applicable laws and codes. Site Visits can be requested. Instructions for the request can be found within the Quoter Instructions of the solicitation. SAM Registration: All offerors shall be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), if you are not registered in SAM or have an ACTIVE status, an award SHALL not be made to your company. You may register electronically at http://www.sam.gov. 1/25/2023 A Question and Answer document responding to all questions asked regarding this solicitation has been attached to the solicitation.. 1/30/2023 Another questions and answer: Question:What are the specific specifications on the pump, primarily the flow rate, system pressure, and voltage of pump motor? Answer:The pump was specified to provide 20 gallons per minute. This is the performance based spec we discussed on the phone and our most important requirement. Net head could be used to assist with specifying a pump but we considered this to be part of the depth criteria. Were tracking that the specs included a nearby well log that indicated that the head would be roughly 45 but that ultimately depends on the depth of the new well. As such, one could estimate the head of the system as roughly 50 but this is impossible to know without drilling the well. Most pumps operate on a 3 phase 208 VAC. We have that available but the vendor could also use a single phase of that if they wanted. (120VAC) We also have 3 phase 480 VAC available and the vendor could use a single phase of that if they desired. (277 VAC) These options are all available and represent all of the common voltages used commercially for these types of pumps. As such, we didnt specify it because we can do basically anything here. In other words, we wouldnt reject this based on a voltage requirement. We dont have a system pressure requirement, just a flow rate requirement.
