- The DLA-Aviation is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support this requirement for 2 Jig Borers. Must provide turn-key machine with Training, IUID, Tooling, Disassembly/Removal of existing, and complete Installation. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 333517. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE/PROPOSAL. IT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. RESPONSES IN ANY FORM ARE NOT OFFERS AND THE GOVERNMENT IS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT AS A RESULT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO PAY FOR PREPARATION OF RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS TO THIS TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION IS STRICTLY VOLUNTARY.�� Submission Instructions: Interested parties should submit a response to this Sources Sought Notice by March 27, 2023 NLT 04:00 pm EST. All responses under this Sources Sought Notice must be emailed to Ashley.Saunders@dla.mil. Responses should be not exceed ten (10) one-sided 8.5 x 10 inch pages with a font that is no smaller than 10 point as this is not a request for a proposal but only a request for submission of a vendor's capability to perform this requirement. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding their submissions. DLA Aviation intends to issue an award for two (2) Jig Borers, including disassembly and removal of two existing machines in accordance with the installation schedule, installation the new machines, IUID Tags, Training, Rigging, and Shipping. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than the stated closing date/time. Place of performance is Feet Readiness Center South East, Jacksonville FL DLA Aviation is requesting industry input into the feasibility of the government�s requirements. In your response, please provide: Description of your company�s capabilities, based on the questions below Comments on the attached statement of work. Please identify on the attached statement of work if your company is capable of providing the requirement as written or propose an alternative solution. Please identify your company�s business size in terms of number of employees, and whether domestic or foreign for consideration of solicitation set-aside, and small business subcontracting requirements. Please identify your company�s manufacturer status: Manufacturer/Non-Manufacturing Source. If non-manufacturing source, please identify the manufacturer. Please identify whether your company will partner with subcontractors to complete this requirement. Please provide a basis of estimate to consider the total financial budget of this requirement. Estimates should capture the total procurement requirements, not solely the machine�s requirements. Physical Characteristics: Maximum allowable floor space (L,W,H): 19 feet � 17 feet � 15 feet Identify that Electrical system conform to both IEC/EN 60204-1 and NFPA 79 standards Must include Side discharge conveyor system Functional Characteristics: Materials to be processed by these machines include various types and temperaments of aluminum, steel, titanium, Inconel, bronze, copper, titanium alloys and stainless steel alloys to rework aircraft engine components. Are your machines provided with X, Y, Z, and W axes? Machines must include a Fanuc 30i MA CNC Control or equivalent with the features listed in 2.4.13.2. What controller is offered with your machines, and how does it meet the requirements of a Fanuc 30i MA CNC Control? Machines must include a Renishaw OPM400 Probe or equivalent for each machine that is fully compatible with existing AMCS-7-H software. What do you provide to meet the probe characteristics and is it compatible with the existing software? What is the number, spacing, and sizes of the T-slots on your table? We have existing fixtures that need to fit on the table. We require a spindle that can perform to the capacities listed in the specification. Does your machine spindles include a chiller? Does your spindle meet or exceed the requirements in 2.5 table I? Machines shall be provided with hand held pendants that position all axes of the machine. Does your machine come with a hand held pendant that meets paragraph 2.4.13.4? The machines must include the tooling included in the specification from 2.7.1 table III. Can you provide this tooling or equivalent and how much would it cost? Performance Characteristics: Are your machines made to meet or exceed the tolerances that are in 2.6 table II? Please identify machine�s capable tolerances. Can your machine produce a part in accordance with the test piece and tolerances described in paragraph 3.7.3?
