- Sources Sought Notice for City of Cumberland � Lower Looney Creek Channel Widening REQUEST FOR INFORMATION The Government is issuing this Request for Information to determine a competitive basis for the procurement described. This is not a solicitation. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this survey.� This survey is for market research purposes only. Only contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this Request for Information.� Requirement The project consists of Channel Widening along Looney Creek, as part of the City of Cumberland, Kentucky Flood Damage Reduction Project as authorized by Section 202 of the Energy and Water Development Act of 1981 (PL96-367). The project includes the channel widening with bank armoring along both, descending banks of Looney Creek, CSX railroad bridge demolition, gravity sewer relocation, and associated modifications of features impacted by the project.� The estimated magnitude for this construction project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Description The scope of this requirement includes:� 1. �Channel modifications for approximately 1380 linear feet of Lower Looney Creek, including bank armoring and planting techniques.� 2. �Relocation of gravity sewer line which includes removing of existing sewer line concrete encasement that impedes movement of aquatic species.� 3. �CSX Railroad Bridge demolition.� 4. �Minor wingwall modification of the Kingdom Come Bridge.� 5. �Gravel Lot construction of the floodway area located between E. Main Street and Looney Creek.� 6. �Tree plantings and permanent turf grass seeding.� 7. �Instream channel work shall not be conducted from April 15th through June 15th due to fish spawning season.� 8. �Tree removal over 3 inches in diameter at breast height can only be conducted from October 15th to March 31st.� *Please note that the specifics of this description are subject to change.� There is a Brand Name requirement for the Shoretec, Extreme Performance Erosion Control (EPEC) System articulated concrete block and aggregate drainage layers. The estimated performance period for this requirement is 365 calendar days from date of Notice to Proceed.� The anticipated NAICS code is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering � Size standard of $39.5 million.� Anticipated type of set-aside: 100% Small Business Survey The Government is issuing this notice to determine a competitive basis.
