- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) intends to negotiate and award a sole source Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) to Caterpillar, Inc. (CAT), Peoria, IL for US Navy Virginia Class Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) Global Repair Services.� The Government intends to make an award in the 4th quarter of fiscal year 2023. The overall scope of this procurement is to provide US Navy Submarine EDG services to conduct shipboard and in-shop maintenance and repair efforts, and provide emergent technical support on US Navy Virginia Class Submarine EDG diesel engines and support systems. This is a new procurement for this requirement. Based on the results of the sources sought notice published on 11 April 2022 on SAM.gov, in concurrence with the NSWCPD Director of Small Business this procurement is not a small business set-aside. Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1), CAT is the only responsible source capable of fulfilling the Navy�s requirements for the specified effort.� The proposed award and resulting modifications are for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.� THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.� Interested parties, however, may identify their interest and capability by responding to the requirement.� The Government will consider all information received prior to the closing date of this synopsis.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.�� Responses shall be made in writing by E-mail to the attention of Anthony Piccari using the contact information provided in this synopsis.� The Product Service Code (PSC) for this effort is J028.
